Dyed-in-the-Wool is a local New Zealand saying that means unchangeable.
The name of the wine was solidified one afternoon while eating lunch with the
winemaker, his wife and their son Lindsay.

As you may or may not know, New Zealand is home to 8 million sheep and about
4 million people. There are a number of mountainsides that are often seen covered with
grazing goats and sheep. The vineyard estate where Dyed-in-the-Wool is created backs up to
one of these hills.   As we ate our lunch, the large number of sheep ate lunch with us on the hillside and even came down to
where we were sitting. The spectacle led to a discussion of the large number of sheep in New Zealand and eventually to the colloquial saying, “Dyed-in-the-Wool” or “Unchangeable”.

Dyed-in-the-Wool is created with “unchangeable” philosophies. The philosophy of our people and the winemaker is to create
the best possible wine each and every vintage. We do nothing that could sacrifice the quality of our wines. That is why the
product we create for ourselves, and our customers to enjoy is “unchangeable vintage to vintage”.       Bon appetite!!!
